This walk-through takes a wallet from no credential to holding a permissioned asset. You verify once; every proof after that is made on your own device.
Before you start#
- A Solana wallet that supports the Wallet Standard, in this browser.
- A little SOL in it for network fees. Writing your credential and each pass also funds a small account rent.
Steps#
-
Connect and sign in. Open the Passport and connect your wallet. You sign one message to sign in; it authorizes no transaction.
-
Verify once. Press Verify once. Your verifier checks who you are, then asks your wallet to approve your credential. The verifier co-signs it and Solana records four commitments for your wallet.
-
Keep your credential file. The verifier hands you a small file with your four values and their salts. Keep it: you need it to prove rule sets. In the app, choose Load file, and tick Keep it on this device if you want the app to remember it in this browser.
-
Check a rule set. With the file loaded, every rule set shows your standing: You can hold this, or what you still need. Hover or focus a rule set to see the clauses your credential meets printed on your screen.
-
Prove it. Press Prove, choose how long the pass should last, then Generate proof and sign. Your device builds the proof in a few seconds; only the proof and the pass expiry are sent. When the transaction finalizes, the rule set shows Pass live.
-
Receive the asset. The issuer can now issue to your wallet, and other holders can send it to you. Your balance appears under Your assets.
Next#
- Prove a rule set explains durations and what the proof contains.
- Receive and send covers transfers and what the transfer hook checks.
- Revocation and renewal explains when a pass stops being live and how to renew it.
